Coulomb excitation of Zn74,76
/ ISOLDE Collaboration
The first experiment using radioactive beams post-accelerated by the HIE-ISOLDE facility has enabled to obtain a precise set of B(E2) transition probabilities in neutron-rich Zn74,76 isotopes. The resulting B(E2; 21+→01+) values are consistent with those determined in earlier REX-ISOLDE measurements. [...]

The analysis of angular particle correlations can yield valuable insights into the initial state of matter in high-energy collisions, thereby potentially revealing the existence of Beyond the Standard Model scenarios such as Hidden Valley (HV). [...]

Operational Experience and Performance of the REX/HIE-ISOLDE Linac

Located at CERN, ISOLDE is one of the world’s lead-ing research facilities in the field of nuclear science. Radioactive Ion Beams (RIBs) are produced when 1.4 GeV protons transferred from the Proton Synchrotron Booster (PSB) to the facility impinge on one of the two available targets. [...]

Coulomb excitation of pear-shaped nuclei
/ Butler, Peter (Liverpool U.) ; Gaffney, Liam (Liverpool U. ; CERN) ; Spagnoletti, Pietro (West Scotland U.) ; Konki, Joonas (CERN) ; Scheck, Marcus (West Scotland U.) ; Smith, John (West Scotland U.) ; Abrahams, Kenzo (Western Cape U.) ; Bowry, Michael (TRIUMF) ; Cederkäll, Joakim (Lund U.) ; Chupp, Timothy (Michigan U.) et al.
There is a large body of evidence that atomic nuclei can undergo octupole distortion and assume the shape of a pear. This phenomenon is important for measurements of electric-dipole moments of atoms, which would indicate CP violation and hence probe physics beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. [...]

Coulomb excitation of $^{222}$Rn
/ Spagnoletti, P (West Scotland U. ; Simon Fraser U., Dept. Chem.) ; Butler, P A (Liverpool U.) ; Gaffney, L P (Liverpool U. ; CERN) ; Abrahams, K (Western Cape U.) ; Bowry, M (West Scotland U. ; TRIUMF) ; Cederkäll, J (Lund U.) ; Chupp, T (U. The nature of quadrupole and octupole collectivity in $^{222}$Rn was investigated by determining the electric-quadrupole (E2) and octupole (E3) matrix elements using subbarrier, multistep Coulomb excitation. The radioactive $^{222}$Rn beam, accelerated to 4.23 MeV/u, was provided by the HIE-ISOLDE facility at CERN. [...]

A final state consisting of one charged lepton, at least one jet, and little missing transverse energy can be a very promising signature of new physics at the LHC across a wide range of models. However, it has received only limited attention so far. [...]

Searching for hidden matter with long-range angular correlations at $e^+e^-$ colliders
/ Pérez-Ramos, Redamy (IPSA, Paris ; Paris, LPTHE) ; Sanchis-Lozano, Miguel-Angel (Valencia U., IFIC ; Valencia U.) ; Sarkisyan-Grinbaum, Edward K. (CERN ; Texas U., Arlington)
The analysis of azimuthal correlations in multiparticle production can be useful to uncover the existence of new physics beyond the Standard Model, e.g., Hidden Valley, in $e^+e^-$ annihilation at high energies. In this paper, based on previous theoretical studies and using PYTHIA8 event generator, it is found that both azimuthal and rapidity long-range correlations are enhanced due to the presence of a new stage of matter on top of the QCD partonic cascade.
