The optimization, design and performance of the FBCM23 ASIC for the upgraded CMS beam monitoring system / Kaplon, Jan (CERN) ; Wegrzyn, Grzegorz (CERN) ; Shibin, Konstantin (CERN ; NICPB, Tallinn) ; Barendregt, Marnix (CERN ; Cambridge U.)
We present the development of the FBCM23 ASIC designed for the Phase-II upgrade of the Fast Beam Condition Monitoring (FBCM) system built at the CMS experiment which will replace the present luminometer based on the BCM1F ASIC [1]. The FBCM system should provide reliable luminosity measurement with 1ns time resolution enabling the detection of beam-induced background. [...]

Front-end electronics for silicon strip trackers: Architectures and evolution / Kaplon, Jan (CERN)
Tracking detectors based on segmented semiconductor sensors have been present in high-energy physics experiments for more than 40 years. The development of these sensors was always strongly linked to advances in CMOS technologies that offer features supporting the design of specialized ASICs for readout purposes. [...]

The Gigatracker of the NA62 experiment at CERN / Kleimenova, Alina (Cathol. U. NA62 is a fixed-target experiment at the CERN SPS designed to measure the branching ratio of the very rare kaon decay $K^{+} \rightarrow \pi^{+}\nu \bar{\nu}$ with 10% precision. Measurements of time, momentum and direction of incoming beam particles are provided by a beam spectrometer called GigaTracker. [...]

The ABC130 barrel module prototyping programme for the ATLAS strip tracker / ATLAS Collaboration
For the Phase-II Upgrade of the ATLAS Detector, its Inner Detector, consisting of silicon pixel, silicon strip and transition radiation sub-detectors, will be replaced with an all new 100 % silicon tracker, composed of a pixel tracker at inner radii and a strip tracker at outer radii. The future ATLAS strip tracker will include 11,000 silicon sensor modules in the central region (barrel) and 7,000 modules in the forward region (end-caps), which are foreseen to be constructed over a period of 3.5 years. MPA-SSA, design and test of a 65nm ASIC-based system for particle tracking at HL-LHC featuring on-chip particle discrimination / Ceresa, Davide (CERN) ; Bergamin, Gianmario (CERN) ; Caratelli, Alessandro (CERN) ; Kaplon, Jan (CERN) ; Kloukinas, Kostas (CERN) ; Scarfì, Simone (EPFL-IPEQ, Lausanne) ; Leblebici, Yusuf (EPFL-IPEQ, Lausanne) /CMS Tracker Group Collaboration
Particle tracking detectors for High Energy Physics need a new readout technique to cope with the increase of the collision rate foreseen for the High Luminosity LHC upgrade. In particular, the selection of interesting physics events at the first trigger stage becomes extremely challenging at high luminosity, not only because of the rate increase, but also because the selection algorithms become inefficient in high pileup conditions.
