Measurement of the background in the CMS muon detector in ${p}{p}$-collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ $\,\text {Te}\hspace{-.08em}\text {V}$ / CMS Muon Collaboration
The CMS detector, including its muon system, has been operating at the CERN LHC in increasingly challenging conditions for about 15 years. The muon detector was designed to provide excellent triggering and track reconstruction for muons produced in proton–proton collisons at an instantaneous luminosity ($\mathcal {L}$) of $1 \times 10^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$. Search for resonant pair production of Higgs bosons in the $ \mathrm{b}\overline{\mathrm{b}}\mathrm{b}\overline{\mathrm{b}} $ final state using large-area jets in proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s}= $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search is presented for the resonant production of a pair of standard model-like Higgs bosons using data from proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in 2016-2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb$ ^{-1} $. AbstractA chemistry module has been implemented in Geant4‐DNA since Geant4 version 10.1 to simulate the radiolysis of water after irradiation. It has been used in a number of applications, including the calculation of G‐values and early DNA damage, allowing the comparison with experimental data. [...]

Differential cross sections for top quark pair ($ \mathrm{t} \overline{\mathrm{t}} $) production are measured in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV using a sample of events containing two oppositely charged leptons. [...]

In this contribution we report status of the CMS Geant4 simulation and the prospects for Run-3 and Phase-2. Firstly, we report about our experience during the start of Run-3 with Geant4 10.7.2, the common software package DD4hep for geometry description, and VecGeom run time geometry library. [...]

Search for Z′ bosons decaying to pairs of heavy Majorana neutrinos in proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s} $ = 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search for the production of pairs of heavy Majorana neutrinos (N) from the decays of Z' bosons is performed using the CMS detector at the LHC. The data were collected in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of $ \sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV, with an integrated luminosity of 138 fb$ ^{-1} $. [...]

Measurements of the azimuthal anisotropy of prompt and nonprompt charmonia in PbPb collisions at $ \sqrt{\smash[b]{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}} = $ 5.02 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The second-order ($ v_{2} $) and third-order ($ v_{3} $) Fourier coefficients describing the azimuthal anisotropy of prompt and nonprompt (from b-hadron decays) J/$\psi$, as well as prompt $ \psi $(2S) mesons are measured in lead-lead collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of $ \sqrt{\smash[b]{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}} = $ 5.02 TeV. The analysis uses a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.61 nb$^{-1}$ recorded with the CMS detector. [...]

Observation of the $ \Upsilon $(3S) meson and suppression of $ \Upsilon $ states in PbPb collisions at $ \sqrt{\smash[b]{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}} = $ 5.02 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The production of $ \Upsilon $(2S) and $ \Upsilon $(3S) mesons in lead-lead (PbPb) and proton-proton (pp) collisions is studied in their dimuon decay channel using the CMS detector at the LHC. The $ \Upsilon $(3S) meson is observed for the first time in PbPb collisions, with a significance above five standard deviations. [...]

First measurement of the forward rapidity gap distribution in pPb collisions at $ \sqrt{\smash[b]{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}} = $ 8.16 TeV / CMS Collaboration
For the first time at LHC energies, the forward rapidity gap spectra from proton-lead collisions for both proton and lead dissociation processes are presented. The analysis is performed over 10.4 units of pseudorapidity at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of $ \sqrt{\smash[b]{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}} = $ 8.16 TeV, almost 300 times higher than in previous measurements of diffractive production in proton-nucleus collisions.
