Following the publication of the new measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, the discrepancy between experiment and the theory prediction from the $g-2$ theory initiative has increased to $4.2\,\sigma$. Recent lattice QCD calculations predict values for the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution that are larger than the data-driven estimates, bringing the Standard Model prediction closer to the experimental measurement. Lattice Evidence for Bound Heavy Tetraquarks / Francis, Anthony (CERN) ; Hudspith, Renwick J (York U., Canada) ; Lewis, Randy (York U., Canada) ; Maltman, Kim (York U., Canada ; Adelaide U., Sch. Chem. Phys.)
We investigate the possibility of $qq'\bar{Q}\bar{Q}'$ tetraquark bound states using $n_f = 2 + 1$ lattice QCD with pion masses $\simeq 164, 299$ and 415 MeV. Two types of lattice interpolating operator are chosen, reflecting first diquarkantidiquark and second meson-meson structure. [...]

Hadronic light-by-light contribution to $(g-2)_\mu$ from lattice QCD: a complete calculation / Chao, En-Hung (U. Mainz, PRISMA ; Mainz U., Inst. Kernphys.) ; Hudspith, Renwick J (U. The tension between the theoretical prediction and the experimental result of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, $a_\mu\equiv(g-2)_\mu/2$, is one of the long-standing puzzles of modern particle physics. After the update of the Fermilab E989 experiment in April 2021, the discrepancy between theory and experiment lies at the 4.2-sigma level. [...]

Euclidean time windows in the integral representation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon $g-2$ serve to test the consistency of lattice calculations and may help in tracing the origins of a potential tension between lattice and data-driven evaluations. In this paper, we present results for the intermediate time window observable computed using O($a$) improved Wilson fermions at six values of the lattice spacings below 0.1 fm and pion masses down to the physical value. Hadronic light-by-light contribution to $(g-2)_\mu $ from lattice QCD: a complete calculation / Chao, En-Hung (Mainz U., Inst. Kernphys. ; U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Hudspith, Renwick J. (Mainz U., Inst. We compute the hadronic light-by-light scattering contribution to the muon $g-2$ from the up, down, and strange-quark sector directly using lattice QCD. Our calculation features evaluations of all possible Wick-contractions of the relevant hadronic four-point function and incorporates several different pion masses, volumes, and lattice-spacings. A lattice investigation of exotic tetraquark channels / Hudspith, R.J. (U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Colquhoun, B. (York U., Canada) ; Francis, A. (CERN) ; Lewis, R. (York U., Canada) ; Maltman, K. (York U., Canada ; Adelaide U., Sch. Chem. Phys.)
We perform an $n_f=2+1$ lattice study of a number of channels where past claims exist in the literature for the existence of strong-interaction-stable light-heavy tetraquarks. We find no evidence for any such deeply-bound states, beyond the $J^P=1^+$, $I=0$ $ud\bar{b}\bar{b}$ and $I=1/2$ $ls\bar{b}\bar{b}$ states already identified in earlier lattice studies. [...]

Hadronic light-by-light contribution to $(g-2)_\mu$ from lattice QCD with SU(3) flavor symmetry / Chao, En-Hung (U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Gérardin, Antoine (Marseille, CPT) ; Green, Jeremy R. (CERN) ; Hudspith, Renwick J. (U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Meyer, Harvey B. (U. Mainz, PRISMA ; Helmholtz Inst., Mainz)
We perform a lattice QCD calculation of the hadronic light-by-light contribution to $(g-2)_\mu$ at the SU(3) flavor-symmetric point $m_\pi=m_K\simeq 420\,$MeV. The representation used is based on coordinate-space perturbation theory, with all QED elements of the relevant Feynman diagrams implemented in continuum, infinite Euclidean space. [...]

We review the present status of the Standard Model calculation of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. This is performed in a perturbative expansion in the fine-structure constant $\alpha$ and is broken down into pure QED, electroweak, and hadronic contributions. [...]

Developments in the position-space approach to the HLbL contribution to the muon $g-2$ on the lattice / Asmussen, Nils (Southampton U.) ; Chao, En-Hung (U. The measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and its prediction allow for a high-precision test of the Standard Model (SM). In this proceedings article we present ongoing work combining lattice QCD and continuum QED in order to determine an important SM contribution to the magnetic moment, the hadronic light-by-light contribution.
