Analysis of orbit measurements with the new High Luminosity LHC collimator beam position monitors in the LHC run 3
/ Lindström, B (CERN) ; Azzopardi, G (CERN) ; Bruce, R (CERN) ; Gasior, M (CERN) ; Gonzalez-Berges, M (CERN) ; Redaelli, S (CERN)
The High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) project foresees the upgrade of a large fraction of primary and secondary collimators of the betatron cleaning system to reduce the collimation impedance. The new collimator design also includes the installation of in-jaw beam position monitors (BPMs) to align the collimators faster and to continuously monitor the beam orbit, ensuring an optimum collimation hierarchy. / Barros, J (CERN) ; Bravin, E (CERN) ; Effinger, E (CERN) ; Gasior, M (CERN) ; Jones, R (CERN) ; Kral, J (CERN) ; Lasch, M (CERN) ; Lefevre, T (CERN) ; Levens, T (CERN) ; Alves, D M Louro (CERN) et al.
This paper presents the expectations for the LHC Beam Instrumentation systems
going into the 2018 run. Planned upgrades during the YETS will be presented and
opportunities for future development, in order to better exploit the available
instrumentation, will be discussed.

Run 2 Overview of the LHC Beam Instrumentation
/ Krupa, M (CERN) ; Alves, D (CERN) ; Gasior, M (CERN) ; Kral, J (CERN) ; Levens, T (CERN) ; Schramm, V (CERN) ; Wendt, M (CERN) ; Zamantzas, C (CERN)
This papers reviews the implemented improvements, operational experience, and
performance reach of the major LHC Beam Instrumentation systems, excluding
transverse beam profile diagnostics, throughout the LHC Run 2. The major
hardware and software changes since the Long Shutdown 1 (LS1) are highlighted
and the main actions addressing the remaining open issues during the Long
Shutdown 2 (LS2) are listed. [...]

"What You Get" - Orbit and tune measurements and feedback
/ Andersen, M (CERN) ; Boccard, C (CERN) ; Bozyigit, S (CERN) ; Calvo, E (CERN) ; Favier, M (CERN) ; Fullerton, J (CERN) ; Gasior, M (CERN) ; Jackson, S (CERN) ; Jensen, L (CERN) ; Jones, R (CERN) et al.
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has now been operated successfully for 3 years relying on the good performance of its beam instrumentation, including position and tune monitors and their respective feedback systems. This contribution gives an overview of the performance and limitations of the current orbit and tune systems. [...]

Status of the tune and orbit measurements and corrections and testing strategy
/ Andersen, M (CERN) ; Baud, G (CERN) ; Betz, M (CERN) ; Boccard, C (CERN) ; Boccardi, A (CERN) ; Calvo, E (CERN) ; Fullerton, J (CERN) ; Gasior, M (CERN) ; Jackson, S (CERN) ; Jensen, L (CERN) et al.
An upgrade of LHC beam instrumentation has been performed during the Long
Shutdown 1. In this context both the beam position and tune monitoring systems,
as well as their respective feedback systems have been reviewed and modified.
This contribution presents an overview of the major hardware and software
modifications performed during LS1 and the expected performance with 6.5TeV
beams in 2015..
