Direct observation of the dead-cone effect in quantum chromodynamics / ALICE Collaboration
At particle collider experiments, elementary particle interactions with large momentum transfer produce quarks and gluons (known as partons) whose evolution is governed by the strong force, as described by the theory of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) [1]. The vacuum is not transparent to the partons and induces gluon radiation and quark pair production in a process that can be described as a parton shower [2]. [...]

Stopping, heating, thermalization and expansion at SPS energies / Gaardhoje, J J (Copenhagen U.)
The Pb beam at 158AGeV from the CERN SPS accelerator which was taken into use in the fall of 1994 has opened a new dimension in the study of highly excited nuclear matter in heavy ion reactions. It has now become possible to form reasonably large volumes (containing more than 300 nucleons) in central collisions between heavy ions, with energy and matter densities in some parts of the volume exceeding those expected for the phase transition from hadronic matter to deconfined quark and gluon matter. Technical Design Report for the Upgrade of the ALICE Inner Tracking System / ALICE Collaboration
ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is preparing a major upgrade of its experimental apparatus, planned for installation in the second long LHC shutdown (LS2) in the years 2018-2019. These plans are presented in the ALICE Upgrade Letter of Intent submitted to the LHCC in September 2012. [...]

Measurement of charged jet suppression in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76TeV / ALICE Collaboration
A measurement of the transverse momentum spectra of jets in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76TeV is reported. Jets are reconstructed from charged particles using the anti-$k_T$ jet algorithm with jet resolution parameters R of 0.2 and 0.3 in pseudo-rapidity |$\eta$|<0.5. [...]

Multiplicity dependence of two-particle azimuthal correlations in pp collisions at the LHC / ALICE Collaboration
We present the measurements of particle pair yields per trigger particle obtained from di-hadron azimuthal correlations in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=0.9, 2.76, and 7 TeV recorded with the ALICE detector. The yields are studied as a function of the charged particle multiplicity. [...]

Directed flow of charged particles at mid-rapidity relative to the spectator plane in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The directed flow of charged particles at midrapidity is measured in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV relative to the collision plane defined by the spectator nucleons. Both, the rapidity odd ($v_1^{odd}$) and even ($v_1^{even}$) directed flow components are reported. [...]

Charmonium and $e^+e^-$ pair photoproduction at mid-rapidity in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The ALICE Collaboration at the LHC has measured the $J/\psi$ and $\psi$' photoproduction at mid-rapidity in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV. The charmonium is identified via its leptonic decay for events where the hadronic activity is required to be minimal. [...]

D meson elliptic flow in non-central Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76TeV / ALICE Collaboration
Azimuthally anisotropic distributions of $D^0, D^+$ and $D^{*+}$ mesons were studied in the central rapidity region (|y| < 0.8) in Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV per nucleon-nucleon collision, with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The second Fourier coefficient $\nu_2$ (commonly denoted elliptic flow) was measured in the centrality class 30-50% as a function of the D meson transverse momentum $p_T$, in the range 2-16 GeV/c. Performance of the ALICE VZERO system / ALICE Collaboration
ALICE is an LHC experiment devoted to the study of strongly interacting matter in proton--proton, proton--nucleus and nucleus--nucleus collisions at ultra-relativistic energies. The ALICE VZERO system, made of two scintillator arrays at asymmetric positions, one on each side of the interaction point, plays a central role in ALICE. [...]

The ratios of yields of anti-baryons to baryons probes the mechanisms of baryon-number transport. Results for anti-proton/proton, anti-$\Lambda/\Lambda$, anti-$\Xi^{+}/\Xi^{-}$ and anti-$\Omega^{+}/\Omega^{-}$ in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 0.9, 2.76 and 7 TeV, measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC, are reported.
