/ Cancelli, Stephanie (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Bari U.) ; Muraro, Andrea (Bari U.) ; Murtas, Fabrizio (CERN ; Frascati) ; Cippo, Enrico Perelli (Bari U.) ; Altieri, Saverio (INFN, Pavia) ; Caruggi, Federico (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; De Oliveira, Rui (CERN) ; Gorini, Giuseppe (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Bari U.) ; Grosso, Giovanni (Bari U.) ; Lai, Chung-Chuan (ESS, Lund) et al.
During the last 10 years, the $^{3}$He crisis has brought to the development of new thermal neutron detection technologies and one of them is based on gas electron multiplier (GEM) principle. To detect neutrons, standard triple GEM detectors are usually coupled with a suitable converter, such as a $^{10}$B$_{4}$C, where neutrons are converted via the nuclear reaction $^{10}$B(n,$\alpha $)$^{7}$Li. The μ-RWELL technology for tracking apparatus in High Energy Physics
/ Alì, M (INFN, Bologna) ; Bencivenni, G (Frascati) ; Bondì, M (INFN, Catania) ; Cerioni, S (Frascati) ; Cibinetto, G (INFN, Ferrara) ; D'Angelo, A (INFN, Rome2) ; De Lucia, E (Frascati) ; De Oliveira, R (CERN) ; Di Bari, D (Frascati) ; Farinelli, R (INFN, Ferrara) et al.
The micro-Resitive WELL (μ-RWELL) is a Micro Pattern Gas Detector (MPGD) that inherits some of the best characteristics of existing MPGDs, like GEMs and MicroMegas, while simplifying the detector construction. A significant progress towards large-scale applications has been achieved through the consolidation and industrial cost-effective manufacturing of this technology. [...]

Measurement of the effective leptonic weak mixing angle
/ LHCb Collaboration
Using $pp$ collision data at $\sqrt{s}=13$~TeV, recorded by the LHCb experiment between 2016 and 2018 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $5.4$~fb$^{-1}$, the forward-backward asymmetry in the $pp \to Z/\gamma^{*} \to \mu^+\mu^-$ process is measured. The measurement is carried out in ten intervals of the difference between the muon pseudorapidities, within a fiducial region covering dimuon masses between $66$ and $116$ GeV, muon pseudorapidities between $2.0$ and $4.5$ and muon transverse momenta above $20$ GeV. In the framework of the uRANIA (u-Rwell Advanced Neutron Imaging Apparatus) project, we are developing innovative thermal neutron detectors based on resistive gaseous devices such as micro-Resistive WELL (μ-RWELL) and surface Resistive Plate Counter (sRPC).The μ-RWELL is a single amplification stage resistive MPGD developed for HEP applications. The amplification stage, based on the same Apical® foil used for the manufacturing of the GEM, is embedded through a resistive layer in the readout board [...]

The $\mu$-RWELL in High Energy Physics and beyond

The μ-RWELL, a resistive Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detector with a single amplification stage, is crafted using a copper-clad polyimide foil intricately micro-patterned with a blind hole (well) matrix. This matrix is integrated into the readout Printed Circuit Board, complemented by a thin Diamond-Like-Carbon sputtered resistive film, in order to mitigate the transition from streamer to spark regimes, enabling the attainment of substantial gains (≥10$^{4}$).
