Two-field Screening and its Cosmological Dynamics / Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; Ouazzani, Ayoub (IPhT, Saclay ; LPENS, Paris)
We consider the screening of the axio-dilaton fields when both the dilaton and the axion couple to matter with Yukawa couplings. We analyse the screening of the dilaton in the vicinity of a compact object and find that this can only take place when special boundary conditions at infinity are imposed. [...]

Euclid: Constraining linearly scale-independent modifications of gravity with the spectroscopic and photometric primary probes / Euclid Collaboration
The future Euclid space satellite mission will offer an invaluable opportunity to constrain modifications to Einstein's general relativity at cosmic scales. We focus on modified gravity models characterised, at linear scales, by a scale-independent growth of perturbations while featuring different testable types of derivative screening mechanisms at smaller non-linear scales [...]

Gravitational waves from binary black holes in a self-interacting scalar dark matter cloud / Boudon, Alexis (IPhT, Saclay) ; Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; Valageas, Patrick (IPhT, Saclay) ; Wong, Leong Khim (IPhT, Saclay)
We investigate the imprints of accretion and dynamical friction on the gravitational-wave signals emitted by binary black holes embedded in a scalar dark matter cloud. As a key feature in this work, we focus on scalar fields with a repulsive self-interaction that balances against the self-gravity of the cloud. [...]

Multiscale constraints on scalar-field couplings to matter: The geodetic and frame-dragging effects / Benisty, David (Cambridge U., DAMTP ; Cambridge U., KICC) ; Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; Davis, Anne-Christine (Cambridge U., DAMTP ; Cambridge U., KICC)
The impact of light scalars coupled conformally and disformally to matter on the geodetic and frame-dragging (FD) precessions is calculated. For larger frequencies the disformal interaction becomes increasingly relevant. [...]

Extended Analysis of Neutrino-Dark Matter Interactions with Small-Scale CMB Experiments / Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; van de Bruck, Carsten (Sheffield U.) ; Di Valentino, Eleonora (Sheffield U.) ; Giarè, William (Sheffield U.) ; Trojanowski, Sebastian (Warsaw, Copernicus Astron. Ctr. ; NCBJ, Warsaw)
We explore an extension of the standard $\Lambda$CDM model by including an interaction between neutrinos and dark matter, and making use of the ground based telescope data of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT). An indication for a non-zero coupling between dark matter and neutrinos (both assuming a temperature independent and $T^2$ dependent cross-section) is obtained at the 1$\sigma$ level coming from the ACT CMB data alone and when combined with the Planck CMB and Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) measurements. [...]

New insights on $\nu$-DM Interactions / Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; van de Bruck, Carsten (CERN) ; Di Valentino, Eleonora (CERN) ; Giarè, William (CERN) ; Trojanowski, Sebastian (Warsaw, Copernicus Astron. Ctr. ; NCBJ, Warsaw)
We revisit the possibility of using cosmological observations to constrain models that involve interactions between neutrinos and dark matter. We show that small-scale measurements of the cosmic microwave background with a few per cent accuracy are critical to uncover unique signatures from models with tiny couplings that would require a much higher sensitivity at lower multipoles, such as those probed by the Planck satellite. Invisible dilaton / Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; Burrage, Clare (Nottingham U.) ; Cembranos, Jose A.R. (Madrid U.) ; Valageas, Patrick (IPhT, Saclay)
We analyse the dynamics of a light scalar field responsible for the $\mu$ term of the Higgs potential and coupled to matter via the Higgs-portal mechanism. We find that this dilaton model is stable under radiative corrections induced by the standard model particle masses. [...]

Light Axiodilatons: Matter Couplings, Weak-Scale Completions and Long-Distance Tests of Gravity / Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; Burgess, C.P. (CERN ; McMaster U. ; Perimeter Inst. Theor. Phys. ; Dublin Inst.) ; Quevedo, F. (Cambridge U., DAMTP)
We consider the physical implications of very light axiodilatons motivated by a novel mechanism to substantially reduce the vacuum energy proposed in arXiv:2110.10352. We address the two main problems concerning the light axiodilaton that appears in the low-energy limit, namely that the axion has a very low decay constant $f_a \sim $ eV (as read from its kinetic term) and that the dilaton is subject to bounds that are relevant to tests of GR once $\rho_{\rm vac} \leq 10^{-80} M_p^4$. Casimir Tests of Scalar-Tensor Theories / Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; Davis, Anne-Christine (Cambridge U., DAMTP) ; Elder, Benjamin (Hawaii U.)
We compute bounds and forecasts on screened modified gravity theories, specialising to the chameleon model in Casimir force experiments. In particular, we investigate the classical interaction between a plate and sphere subject to a screened interaction of the chameleon type. [...]

Stringent Pulsar Timing Bounds on Light Scalar Couplings to Matter / Benisty, David (Cambridge U., DAMTP ; Cambridge U., KICC) ; Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; Davis, Anne-Christine (Cambridge U., DAMTP ; Cambridge U., KICC)
Pulsar Timing constraints on scalar-tensor theories with conformal and disformal couplings to matter are discussed. Reducing the dynamics to the motion in the centre of mass frame and using the mean anomaly parametrisation, we find the first post-Newtonian corrections induced by the conformal and disformal interactions in the form of a generalized quasi-Keplerian solution. [...]
