Mechanical design of a nested 4-layer Canted Cosine Theta (CCT) dipole / Ortwein, Rafal (Cracow, INP) ; Blocki, Jacek (Cracow, INP) ; Kirby, Glyn (CERN) ; van Nugteren, Jeroen (CERN)
Nested CCT dipoles could be used in particle accelerators and proton therapy machines to bend a beam of charged particles in any direction. In the present study, a mechanical design of a 4 layer nested CCT dipole is evaluated with Finite Element Method (FEM). [...]

FEM modeling of multilayer Canted Cosine Theta (CCT) magnets with orthotropic material properties / Ortwein, R (Cracow, INP) ; Blocki, J (Cracow, INP) ; Wachal, P (Cracow, INP) ; Kirby, G (CERN) ; van Nugteren, J (CERN)
CCT magnets are becoming more popular, especially as they provide support for each separate turn of a coils, thus significantly lowering the coil stresses and deformations. A four layer nested CCT dipole was designed atCERN as an R&D; effort to study the possibility of using the CCT technology for such a complex magnet. [...]

This paper summarises the mechanical construction andinstallation of the Tile Calorimeter for the ATLASexperiment at the Large Hadron Collider in CERN, Switzerland. The TileCalorimeter is a sampling calorimeter using scintillator as the sensitivedetector and steel as the absorber and covers the central region of the ATLASexperiment up to pseudorapidities ±1.7. Jet energy measurement and its systematic uncertainty in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The jet energy scale (JES) and its systematic uncertainty are determined for jets measured with the ATLAS detector using proton-proton collision data with a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb$^{-1}$. Jets are reconstructed from energy deposits forming topological clusters of calorimeter cells using the anti-k$_t$ algorithm with distance parameters $R=0.4$ or $R=0.6$, and are calibrated using MC simulations. Muon reconstruction efficiency and momentum resolution of the ATLAS experiment in proton–proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV in 2010 / ATLAS Collaboration
This paper presents a study of the performance of the muon reconstruction in the analysis of proton--proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV at the LHC, recorded by the ATLAS detector in 2010. This performance is described in terms of reconstruction and isolation efficiencies and momentum resolutions for different classes of reconstructed muons. [...]

The differential production cross section of the $\phi$(1020) meson in $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV pp collisions measured with the ATLAS Detector / ATLAS Collaboration
A measurement is presented of the $\phi ➝ K^+K^−$ production cross section at √s = 7 TeV using pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 383 μb$^{−1}$ collected with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. Selection of $\phi$(1020) mesons is based on the identification of charged kaons by their energy loss in the pixel detector. [...]

Measurement of the production cross-section of prompt J/$\psi$ mesons in association with a W± boson in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The process $pp \to W^{\pm} J/\psi$ provides a powerful probe of the production mechanism of charmonium in hadronic collisions, and is also sensitive to multiple parton interactions in the colliding protons. Using the 2011 ATLAS dataset of 4.5 fb-1 of $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV pp collisions at the LHC, the first observation is made of the production of $W^{\pm}$ + prompt $J/\psi$ events in hadronic collisions, using $W^{\pm} \to \mu\nu_{\mu}$ and $J/\psi \to \mu^+\mu^-$. Measurement of dijet cross sections in pp collisions at 7 TeV centre−of−mass energy using the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Double-differential dijet cross sections measured in pp collisions at the LHC with a 7 TeV centre-of-mass energy are presented as functions of dijet mass and rapidity separation of the two highest-$pT$ jets. These measurements are obtained using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5 fb$^{-1}$, recorded by the ATLAS detector in 2011. [...]

Search for a Multi-Higgs Boson Cascade in $W^+W^− b\bar{b}$ events with the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV / ATLAS Collaboration
A search is presented for new particles in an extension to the Standard Model that includes a heavy Higgs boson ($H^0$), an intermediate charged Higgs boson (H±), and a light Higgs boson ($h^0$). The analysis searches for events involving the production of a single heavy neutral Higgs boson which decays to the charged Higgs boson and a W boson, where the charged Higgs boson subsequently decays into a W boson and the lightest neutral Higgs boson decaying to a bottom-antibottom-quark pair. Measurement of the top quark pair production charge asymmetry in proton–proton collisions at √ s = 7 TeV using the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
This paper presents a measurement of the top quark pair ($t\bar{t}$) production charge asymmetry $A_C$ using 4.7 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy √s = 7 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. A $t\bar{t}$ enriched sample of events with a single lepton (electron or muon), missing transverse momentum and at least four high transverse momentum jets, of which at least one is tagged as coming from a b–quark, is selected.
