The excited states of $N=44$$^{74}$Zn were investigated via $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy following $^{74}$Cu $\beta$ decay. By exploiting $\gamma$-$\gamma$ angular correlation analysis, the $2_2^+$, $3_1^+$, $0_2^+$ and $2_3^+$ states in $^{74}$Zn were firmly established. [...]

We have measured the cross section of the $^{83}$Rb(p,$\gamma)^{84}$Sr radiative capture reaction in inverse kinematics using a radioactive beam of $^{83}$Rb at incident energies of 2.4 and $2.7 A$ MeV. Prior to the radioactive beam measurement, the $^{84}$Kr(p,$\gamma)^{85}$Rb radiative capture reaction was measured in inverse kinematics using a stable beam of $^{84}$Kr at an incident energy of $2.7 A$ MeV. Hyperon Polarization along the Beam Direction Relative to the Second and Third Harmonic Event Planes in Isobar Collisions at <math display="inline"><mrow><msqrt><mrow><msub><mrow><mi>s</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>N</mi><mi>N</mi></mrow></msub></mrow></msqrt><mo>=</mo><mn>200</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>GeV</mi></mrow></math> / STAR Collaboration
The polarization of $\Lambda$ and $\bar{\Lambda}$ hyperons along the beam direction has been measured relative to the second and third harmonic event planes in isobar Ru+Ru and Zr+Zr collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV. This is the first experimental evidence of the hyperon polarization by the triangular flow originating from the initial density fluctuations. [...]

Search for the chiral magnetic wave using anisotropic flow of identified particles at energies available at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider / STAR Collaboration
The chiral magnetic wave (CMW) has been theorized to propagate in the deconfined nuclear medium formed in high-energy heavy-ion collisions, and to cause a difference in elliptic flow ($v_{2}$) between negatively and positively charged hadrons. Experimental data consistent with the CMW have been reported by the STAR Collaboration at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), based on the charge asymmetry dependence of the pion $v_{2}$ from Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 27 to 200 GeV. The half-life of the superallowed Fermi $\beta^+$ emitter $^{14}$O was determined to high precision via a direct $\beta$ counting experiment performed at the Isotope Separator and Accelerator (ISAC) facility at TRIUMF. The result, $T_{1/2}$($^{14}$O) = 70619.2(76) ms, is consistent with, but is more precise than, the world average obtained from 11 previous measurements. [...]

The performance of the CMS muon detector in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV at the LHC / CMS Collaboration
The performance of all subsystems of the CMS muon detector has been studied by using a sample of proton--proton collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV collected at the LHC in 2010 that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of approximately 40 inverse picobarns. The measured distributions of the major operational parameters of the drift tube (DT), cathode strip chamber (CSC), and resistive plate chamber (RPC) systems met the design specifications. [...]

Measurement of the hadronic activity in events with a Z and two jets and extraction of the cross section for the electroweak production of a Z with two jets in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The first measurement of the electroweak production cross section of a Z boson with two jets (Zjj) in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV is presented, based on a data sample recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC with an integrated luminosity of 5 inverse femtobarns. The cross section is measured for the lljj (l = e, $\mu$) final state in the kinematic region $m_{ll} \gt$ 50 GeV, $m_{jj} \gt$ 120 GeV, transverse momenta $p_T^{j} \gt$ 25 GeV and pseudorapidity abs($\eta^{j}$) $\lt$ 4.0. Search for a standard-model-like Higgs boson with a mass in the range 145 to 1000 GeV at the LHC / CMS Collaboration
A search for a standard-model-like Higgs boson in the H $\to$ WW and H $\to$ ZZ decay channels is reported, for Higgs boson masses in the range 145 < $m_H$ < 1000 GeV. The search is based upon proton-proton collision data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of up to 5.1 inverse femtobarns at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and up to 5.3 inverse femtobarns at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV, recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. Measurement of the $\Upsilon$(1S), $\Upsilon$(2S), and $\Upsilon$(3S) cross sections in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The $\Upsilon$(1S), $\Upsilon$(2S), and $\Upsilon$(3S) production cross sections are measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.8 $\pm$ 1.4 inverse picobarns of proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV, collected with the CMS detector at the LHC. The Upsilon resonances are identified through their decays to dimuons. [...]
