CMS expects to manage many tens of peta bytes of data to be distributed over several computing centers around the world. The CMS distributed computing and analysis model is designed to serve, process and archive the large number of events that will be generated when the CMS detector starts taking data. [...]

CMS offline web tools
/ Metson, S (Bristol U.) ; Belforte, S (INFN, Trieste) ; Bockelman, B (Nebraska U.) ; Dziedziniewicz, K (CERN) ; Egeland, R (Minnesota U.) ; Elmer, P (Princeton U.) ; Eulisse, G (Northeastern U.) ; Evans, D (Fermilab) ; Fanfani, A (Bologna U.) ; Feichtinger, D (PSI, Villigen) et al.
We describe a relatively new effort within CMS to converge on a set of web based tools, using state of the art industry techniques, to engage with the CMS offline computing system. CMS collaborators require tools to monitor various components of the computing system and interact with the system itself. [...]

CMS Monte Carlo production in the WLCG computing grid
/ Hernández, J M (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Kreuzer, P (Aachen, Tech. Hochsch.) ; Mohapatra, A (Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Filippis, N D (Bari U. ; INFN, Bari) ; Weirdt, S D (Vrije U., Brussels) ; Hof, C (Aachen, Tech. Monte Carlo production in CMS has received a major boost in performance and scale since the past CHEP06 conference. The production system has been re-engineered in order to incorporate the experience gained in running the previous system and to integrate production with the new CMS event data model, data management system and data processing framework. CMS Monte Carlo production operations in a distributed computing environment
/ Mohapatra, A ; Kreuzer, P (CERN) ; Khomich, A (CERN) ; Lazaridis, C ; Hernández, J M ; Caballero, J ; Hof, C ; Kalinin, S ; Flossdorf, A ; Abbrescia, M et al.
Monte Carlo production for the CMS experiment is carried out in a distributed computing environment; the goal of producing 30M simulated events per month in the first half of 2007 has been reached. A brief overview of the production operations and statistics is presented..

The CMS Monte Carlo Production System : Development and Design
/ Evans, D (Fermilab) ; Fanfani, A (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Kavka, C (INFN, Trieste) ; Van Lingen, F (Caltech) ; Eulisse, G (Northeastern U.) ; Bacchi, W (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Codispoti, G (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Mason, D (Fermilab) ; De Filippis, N (INFN, Bari) ; Hernandez J M (Madrid, CIEMAT) et al.
The CMS production system has undergone a major architectural upgrade from its predecessor, with the goal of reducing the operational manpower needed and preparing for the large scale production required by the CMS physics plan. The new production system is a tiered architecture that facilitates robust and distributed production request processing and takes advantage of the multiple Grid and farm resources available to the CMS experiment..
