Abstract Precise measurements of the Higgs boson Yukawa couplings provide important tests of the Standard Model of particle physics. This review summarizes the current status of the analyses performed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments that search for the Higgs boson decay into a pair of muons. Additionally, two measurements in the Higgs boson decay channel into a pair of tau leptons are presented. The first analysis discussed was performed by the ATLAS collaboration and targets Higgs bosons produced via vector boson fusion and gluon fusion. The second presented analysis is a search performed by the CMS collaboration targeting Higgs bosons produced in association with a vector boson.
