Abstract Invariant cross-sections are presented for the inclusive reaction p+p to pi /sup 0/+anything. Measurements of large transverse momentum pi /sup 0/'s (2.5 GeV/c<p/sub t/<9 GeV/c) were made near 90 degrees at the CERN ISR at five centre-of-mass energies ( square root s=23.5, 30.6, 44.8, 52.7 and 62.4 GeV). At large p/sub t/, the invariant cross-sections are seen to vary with s and p/sub t/, in good agreement with a fit of the form Ap/sub perpendicular to //sup -n/F(p/sub t// square root s), with n approximately=8 and F(p/sub t// square root s) approximately=exp(-26p/sub t// square root s).
