Abstract An analysis is given of single photon production in pp interactions at 62 GeV, in an attempt to determine the proton's gluon distribution. Results are presented for the ratio f/sub gamma /= gamma /all and charge ratio. The former is enhanced, while the latter indicates an excess of high X/sub e/ positive particles in the single photon enhanced sample. Results suggest that the process qg to gamma q is significant in high p/sub T/ single photon production. (3 refs).
