When One Line Took Thousands of Websites Offline / Henschel, Jack (CERN) ; Borges Aurindo Barros, Francisco (CERN)
This talk describes an incident where an innocuous change in a configuration management system caused a highly-visible unavailability of thousands of websites, which was followed by an intense recovery procedure. The talk covers the part of the infrastructure that prevented more widespread damage, the lessons learned (in terms of infrastructure design and operational procedures) as well as improvements significant improvements that have been implemented since then. [...]

An overview on CINNAMON / Gardi, Luca (CERN)
CINNAMON stands for Centralized IPMI NotificatioN And Monitoring System, it provides a consistent part of CERN’s DC server hardware, temperature and power monitoring and it's meant as a replacement to in-band ipmi-lemon-sensor. This presentation provides a status update on the tool, from development phase to production..

Beyond repositories: enabling actionable FAIR open data reuse services in particle physics / Rodriguez Rodriguez, Diego (CERN) ; Simko, Tibor (CERN) ; Dallmeier-Tiessen, Sunje (CERN) ; Feger, Sebastian Stefan (Universitaet Stuttgart (DE)) ; Fokianos, Pamfilos (CERN) ; Kousidis, Konstantinos ; Lavasa, Artemis (CERN) ; Maciulaitis, Rokas (Ministere des affaires etrangeres et europeennes (FR)) ; Okraska, Jan (University of Warsaw (PL)) ; Trzcinska, Anna (CERN) et al.
We describe experiences from building and operating the CERN Open Data repository platform that manages and disseminates more than one petabyte of open data from particle physics. We discuss the education and research use cases of the platform and we argue that in order to make the FAIR open data fully actionable and reusable by a variety of users, the research data repositories should evolve from focusing on resource-hosting present towards integrated service-provisioning future. CERN’s Digital Memory: When Patrimony Data meets Scientific Data / Le Meur, Jean-Yves (CERN)
Since 1954, the European Organization for Nuclear Physics (CERN) has developed and exploited accelerator technologies to run fundamental research on high-energy particles. Punctuated by the discovery of new particles and the invention of the World Wide Web, the last 65 years have seen an explosion in the amount of data captured, whether scientific datasets or multimedia documentary.
