Only two days and I've fallen in love with this tea kettle :-). I'm an inveterate tea drinker, which means that I run through tea kettles at a faster-than-normal rate. I usually leave the spout open, and then boil the kettle dry. Or I boil the kettle dry because I can't hear the whistle. Or I burn the kettle on the stove because the gas flame underneath is wider than the base and it scorches the sides. Or I burn my hand when I try to pour the thing. Those four issues here are non-issues: (1) you can't leave the spout open, so you can't boil it dry; (2) the whistle is pretty strong, so I can hear it from a distance; (3) the base of the kettle is wide, so you can't burn the sides; (4) and the handle and spout handle are cool to handle. Since nothing is absolutely perfect, let me say that the only tiny drawback I see is that the kettle is a little heavier than I was expecting. But that's fine with me. It's also beautiful-looking on my stove.

I ordered the tea pot after reading all the great reviews, so here is one more. Right out of the box I was impressed with the looks and sturdiness. It has taken some getting used to, it is a bit heavier than the pot it replaced, which is not a bad thing!
Being well made it does retain the heat after the burner is turned off. The whistle works well, which is good, because I sometimes forget that the burner is on. The whistle did not work on our last pot, which ultimately lead to its demise.
We have had the kettle for just a week, it gets used several times a day and most importantly, the wife likes it.

Not only is this kettle is beautiful but also really good quality. I like that the base is so wide that it covers the whole burner. It's sturdy and well made. It heats water fairly quickly. I'm not giving it 5 stars only because mine came with a little scratch on the side (not big enough to send back, so I kept it). Very nice kettle.

Love this tea kettle! It not only is attractive and easy to clean, it pours easily and is a lovely addition to our kitchen. The whistle is not too loud. It is just what we were looking for.

The handle to pull the lid off of the kettle broke after one year of use. It wasn't expensive, but for $35, I would expect the kettle to last longer. Part of the problem is that the tolerance of the lid was way too tight. So you had to get a very firm grip and pull really firmly on the handle each time you wanted to put water in the kettle. Given that amount of effort each time, it's not surprising that the lid handle broke. Disappointed though and reverted to using my OXO kettle that I have had for years. The only reason I bought a new one is I needed a stainless steel kettle to work on my induction cooktop when I was having my kitchen remodeled. Now I am back to a gas burner, so at least I have my old aluminum kettle.

Love the look, how quickly it heats up and how easy it is to fill and pour the kettle. However, after using just one time it already had two small "rust" spots" on the inside bottom. I was able to "scour" them clean but suspect that this won't be the last time I have to do so. While this may be just a "flaw" with the one I received it was very disappointing.

this is one fantastic tea kettle. Does not take long to heat and holds plenty of water. It is also very sturdy and easy to pour water out of as long as you do not fill it too close to the spout, but even then it will pour without spilling if you do it slowly. I just did it once and figured it is not worth taking a chance of having boiling water splash on me.

Seldom will I give a negative review, but after 3 months of putting up with water leaks from the bottom of the spout and constant leaks every time you open the cap, it's time to give this to Goodwill and start over. My second attempt at this was much better and wife and I thorough love the OXO Good Grips Uplift Tea Kettle, as it is a winner.
