Cuba severes ties with the US
US was at first open to the idea of Cuba as anally, they thought Cuba was a Democraticstate. upon realizing Cuba’s mistakes likepolitical arrest and military tribunal, the USsevered its ties with Cuba.
Severed Ties: Continued
The US was very willing to communicate withCuba in the beginning but eventually stoppedconnection with Cuba due to their politicalways. This is a huge turning point for historybecause Cuba was a huge possibility fordevelopment in both nations
Bay of Pigs continued
Due to the lack of manpower and aerial aid, theHomeland Cubans were able to drive out theUS invaders, there were many casualties and itwent down in the books as a huge loss for theUS.

April of 1961, President Kennedy gave the ‘goahead’ to a group of US allied Cubans toinfiltrate Cuba. Kennedy Let the team go, butrefused to aid with air force.
Russian Missile Crisis
1962: Russians plan to plant a medium rangemissiles in Cuban territory. These missiles arein range of the US and are able to be fired atlethal levels. Russians believe this will be avery good opportunity to get the upper handover the US.

Once the US had caught word of the missilehome front in Cuba, they gave orders to thearmy to intercept the Russian cargo shipsmoving to Cuba. This was an attempt to stirfear in Cuba, in order to yield them from takingthe Russian Missiles.
Castro’s waning health
In 2008, Castro is in his 81st years of life. Hishealth waning, body is aging, and is slowingdown. He himself realizes this and gives apublic announcement dealing with hisretirement plan to the Cuban society

In 2008 The president of Brazil and Castro metfor a meeting. Castro was asked about hishealth and told the president that he was fine.Months later his health fell lower and he endedup retiring for good. 4

In february of 2008, the UN and Minister FelipePerez, Roque signed the international covenanton Civil and Political rights and the InternationalCovenant on Economic, Social, and Culturalrights. This Document was the embodiment ofjusctice in Cuba. Basically covering the rights ofman, and freeing the people of Cuba.

In July of 2008 the Cuban government loosensits leash on private farming. This is in order tofill the economy with cash flow in order to keepCuba’s financial head above water. In March of2009 the UN opens trade between US andCuba, this allows travel between countries andeven economic transactions.

In april of 2011 the Cuban government electeda new leader of the country. Jose ramonmachado, the new leader of Cuba was electedand ready to make change...for the better!

In the following year, Cuban government furtherloosens the leash on its people. Selling carsbecame a legal transaction for businessowners. people could buy and sell automotivewithout worry, also the sale of real estate. Thisis a huge step in Cuban life.
The Pope’s in town!
March of 2012, the pope makes a long awaitedvisit to Cuba. This event is very importantbecause it acts a a landmark in thedevelopment of Cuba in its new light.

Because the Pope visited Cuba, it shows thatthe Government is truly giving freedom ofreligion to their people. The Popes visit almostacted as a test for the Cuban government, tosee how loyally they stand by their new rules.
Exit Visa requirements dropped!!
In october 16th 2012 the governments of Cubaannounced that citizens will no longer need anexit Visa to leave the country. This action is ahuge step for the country because it allows thepeople to travel as they please, without havingto be tract like animals.

On january 13th of 2013, just last year, theCuban government gave permission to itspeople to leave the country freely at will, andeven live outside Cuba. This is a HUGE changefor the better, people seem to be truly free now.
Cuba and the US are buds now
In addition to the changes in traveling rules,Cuba, on Dec 17th, 2013, freed a captured UScitizen, who had been in custody for 15 years.This shows that there is no longer a hateful veilover the US in Cuba’s eyes.

As an act of kindness towards Cuba, PresidentObama announces that the US will start andresume its ties and trade with Cuba, includingdiplomatic relations. This is the first time since1961 that the US and Cuba are finallycoexisting without bad blood.
