A noun names a person, place, thing, or idea.

Person: Your brother is awake.

Place: Let’s walk to the park.

Thing: The dog jumps high.

Idea: My happiness lasted all day.

A pronoun takes the place of one or morenouns. Some pronouns include I, you, he, she,it, we, and they.

José is my friend. He is my friend.

A verb expresses an action or a state of being.

Action: Ivan built a model airplane.

State of Being: The airplane is red.

An adjective is a word that describes a noun ora pronoun.
