In the beginning it was not this way. Man was created to fellowshipwith God. And they did, until that fateful day when in rebellion manturned his back on God. Adam could do any thing he wanted, exceptone. Gen. 2:17 “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thoushalt surely die.” Death is separation. Adam chose that day to beseparated from God. Rom. 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sinentered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed uponall men, for that all have sinned”
